This week on The SPEED Report...
Nothing puts a period on everything from the week in racing like The SPEED Report
The Finale… The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion will be crowned… and The SPEED Report will be on site with all the action and reaction from a busy weekend of racing at Homestead Florida.
TSR field reporter Bob Dillner will be on hand to get the latest from Jimmie, Carl, all the major players involved in the final race of the season. Meanwhile, Krista Voda, Steve Byrnes, and NASCAR analyst and Championship winning crew chief Doug Richert will break down the day from location in Homestead, and give their take on the season past.
Push to the end… Clint Bowyer has led the NASCAR nationwide standings following the last 29 races… But, Carl Edwards has gained 140 points on Clint in the last three races. With the deficit now only 56, and just one race to run, The pressure is on both drivers. If Bowyer finishes eighth in Homestead he will win the Championship no matter what Carl Edwards does. As witnessed by his performance in recent weeks, Edwards though does not give up… TSR will have Championship highlights and reaction from this intense battle.
Never Closer… Never before this late in the season has the NASCAR Craftsman truck Series title chase been this tight. Johnny Benson leads Ron Hornaday Jr. by just three points going into the final race… Will it come down to who finishes in front of who? Johnny Benson won this race last year, but never before has the same driver won twice at Homestead in the trucks. Current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series crew chief and TSR analyst Doug Richert will break down the action and SPEED NCTS reporter Ray Dunlap will talk to the champ.
